Charity of the Month: over £500 raised for St. Luke's Hospice
As you may know, here at PFTP we run a Charity of the Month programme - 10% of our booking fee revenue and any additional donations over the period are given to a particular charity or local cause that we feel strongly about. Over October and November 2018, this charity was St Luke’s Hospice - and we are proud to say that we’ve raised a total donation of £504.70 for this superb organisation!
St. Luke’s are a Sheffield-based charity that provides specialist palliative care for adults with terminal illnesses. They aim to control their symptoms, alleviate pain, and give them the best possible quality of life – all free of charge.
Whether providing treatment on-site at their In-Patient Centre, or in patient’s own homes through their Integrated Community Team, the charity’s work is centred around ensuring peace of mind, contentment and relief from pain for all patients. Not only do St Luke’s support the patients themselves, but they work closely with their families, helping them adjust to being carers and deal with the challenge of seeing a loved one go through a life-changing, terminal illness.
