Halloween Round Up 2019
With Halloween fast approaching, we thought we’d collate some of the best parties, gigs and events taking place over the weekend. From indie pop and Polish queer punk to bassline raves and a Boiler Room hardcore special, there’s bound to be something for everyone.
Nine Circles of Hell
Over four days, DIY venues Hatch and Delicious Clam Records are teaming up to host a ‘four-day descent into the unknown’ across the city. On the cards are film screenings, bands, spoken word, DJs and all sorts more. For the first event on 30th October at Delicious Clam, expect live music from Léonore Boulanger and Howie Reeve, and a re-score of John Carpenters cult sci-fi horror classic ‘They Live’ by ‘analogue electronic gremlins’ Turtles' Breath.
The second event is at Hatch on the 31st – an exclusive screening of Polish queer punk musical ‘Siksa’, some spoken word, electronics and drumming from Eilis Frawley, with support from Hatch regulars Ravedadd. Next up is the main event on Nov’ 1st at another secret location. Interactive terrors, bands, DJs and more from 8pm - 4am, including Proteus (DJ), Isis Moray, True Yorkshire Kult Ensemble, Slug Milk, and very special guests from Brooklyn & Berlin...
Closing off the weekend on Nov’ 2nd is a gig at Delicious Clam – Mr Ben and the Bens celebrate the launch of their new album ‘Who Knows Jenny Jones?’ as part of their third headline UK tour. Expect jangling, infectious indie pop. ‘Record of the week' - BBC 6 Music, Marc Riley. Support comes from Sun Drift and Potpourri.

Also on the 25th, Sweats and La Rumba team up for their first full collaboration, bringing DJ Boring to headline a new, underground venue in the city centre. Support from local talents Wow + Flutter, and Kudan b2b Roman Rocha.

Off the back of their takeover at Boomtown, 24hr Garage Girls host a Halloween boat party at Thekla Bristol on Fri 1st Nov’. They welcome Harriet Jaxxon and Nina Las Vegas to the Cargo Hold, with the top deck’s lineup still TBA.

Planet Zogg and Mango Disco return to Yellow Arch on Friday 1st Nov’ for another all-night Halloween special. The event is set across all three rooms; in room 1, expect Psy-techno from Zogg Vortex, headlined by Cosmosis. Room 2 is hosted by Mango Disco, bringing live music and tropical rhythms. Disco of Doom DJs takeover room 3 to complete the lineup. The venue will be suitably kitted out with ‘cosmic décor, performers, a freak street café and outdoor chill areas.’
