Banana Hill release 2nd track of their new Charity Edits series
Manchester label Banana Hill continue their new charity series, with James Fox’s re-edit of ‘Shorty’, a synth-heavy South African disco jam by Simon Moloi. The original was released in the mid ‘80s, an era when a disco-pop fusion sound known as Bubblegum was sweeping the Rainbow Nation.
This release marks the 2nd edition of Banana Hill’s new series - each month the label will release a re-edit via Bandcamp and donate the proceeds to a selected charity. Funds raised through the James Fox edit will support Manchester Central Foodbank, who provide a vital service for those in need.
The series kicked off in January with Cervo’s edit of N’taki, by Malian guitarist and teacher Idrissa Soumaoro. Cervo ups the tempo and adds subtle dusty kicks, claps and more to Idrissa's beautiful original, reimagining it for the 2019 dancefloor. All proceeds support non-profit music festival, Meet Me There Weekender (who coincidentally are also PFTP’s Charity Of The Month for January and February 2019!).
Check out both tracks below and support these great causes by purchasing via their Bandcamp!
