Legendary House Vocalist Kim English has passed away
Vocalist Kim English, hailed as ‘one of the finest voices in house music’, has passed away.
Nervous Records, the Chicago singer’s label, announced the news on Facebook yesterday, in a post which described many songs in the vocalist’s discography as ‘all-time classics’.
The post read: “It is with great sadness that we announce the passing tonight of Kim English.
“She had a unique ability both through her singing and songwriting talents to inspire people to dance and also celebrate the joys of God and religion.”
After starting out as a gospel singer, English worked with Nervous to produce hits such as ‘Night Life’ and ‘Learn 2 Luv’ in the ‘90s.
DJs and clubbers alike have since come together to pay their respects to the singer.
