Sensoria announcing line-up for 2019 edition

2 August 2019

Named after local electronic collective Cabaret Voltaire’s 1984 hit, Sheffield’s Sensoria is back in September for its 12th edition. Previous years have seen the likes of Laurie Anderson, Bo Ningen, Michael Rother, Richard Hawley, John Grant, Bill Ryder-Jones and Sheffield icon Jarvis Cocker. With venues all over the city, the festival offers ten days of music and film this Autumn.

This year’s line-up includes Scottish producer and multi-instrumentalist Erland Cooper; frontman of both The Magnetic North and Erland & The Carnival, as well as Creep Show; an electronic collective whose debut album Mr Dynamite was voted Album of the Year by Electronic Sound Magazine in 2018.

Alongside performances from live bands and DJs, the festival will host a variety of film screenings and art exhibitions including the 1938 film The Adventures of Robin Hood, UK's premier synthetizer exhibtion SynthFest, Philip Thomas’ renditions of American composer Morton Feldman’s work and Sensoria’s own event SensoriaPro – a unique, informal gathering of composers, filmmakers, music publishers, music supervisors and games developers discussing the latest innovations in music and the moving image.

Taking place from the 27th of September to the 5th of October, check Sensoria's website for up-to-date information about the various talent and events being announced over the coming months.
