>>>> DOC SCOTT <<<<
Co-founder of Metalheadz, 31 Recordings label boss, and undisputed 'King Of The Rollerz' as branded by Goldie, DOC SCOTT will be joining us on Friday 26th May for what will be an incredible 2 hour set!
One of the original DJs to shape the scene since the early 90s, notably from legendary residencies at Blue Note & Speed, his inimitable skills as a producer and label boss have taken the music into unprecedented terrains.
Although primarily a DJ, his productions are definitive classics within the scene, such as ‘Here Comes The Drumz’ on Reinforced Records, the first ever Metalheadz release ‘VIP Drumz’, to the more mellow sounds of ‘Tokyo Dawn’ on Good Looking Records. His own label 31 Recordings, sparked by Scott’s ground-breaking ‘Shadow Boxing’ under his Nasty Habits alias, has been a hub for new talent, pushing some of the biggest legends in the scene in their early days, and has included more recent releases from J:KENZO, Digital and S.P.Y to name a few!
>>>> Sorrow <<<<
Birmingham born now Bristol-based Sorrow is a UK Garage, Dubstep and Grime artist. His debut release was revealed in 2011, when he announced the release of his first E.P on L2S Recordings and has since released his well-received debut album ‘Dreamstone’ with Monotreme Records to the public. His work on his own label, Shinigrim Records has received wide support from the Dubstep community. Tracks like Iscariot and Projecks are nothing short of dance floor killers and most notably his track Voynich is one of the many dubplates which makes his sets unmissable! Working very closely with fellow musician Asa, the duo has made efforts to rejuvenate the grime scene with their fresh twist on the sound, gaining support from acclaimed producers along the way and securing remixes on their fellow Bristolian Joker’s imprint, KAPSIZE RECORDINGS. Following his 2015 release on Inspected, Sorrow seems to be focusing on pursuing a more weighty danceable sound taking inspiration from the music he grew up with.
>>>> ETCH <<<<
24-year old ETCH, whose sub-quaking work draws as equally from garage and dubstep as it does jungle began producing in his bedroom at the age of 12 after the infectious curiosity of early 00’s drum & bass, hip hop and experimental electronic music. Since then, he’s had a string of successful releases on Keysound Recordings, Soundman Chronicles and Dr. Banana.
With a love of technicality and emotive expression via drums, bass, atmospherics and electronic intricacies, Etch is an expert at producing, nostalgic and backwards looking, yet forward facing music. His approach to DJing is as far flung as his inspirations for production, seamlessly drawing in the tearing breaks of jungle & dnb with the half time patterns of hip hop, moving up and down bpm selections and styles creating an exciting and varied blend of sounds.
Etch mixes classic styles of jungle, drum and bass and hardcore with the more contemporary techniques of grime, juke and other various styles including dubstep, hip hop and garage. With forthcoming releases on Berceuse Heroique and Well Rounded to name a few, Etch is certainly one to keep an eye on!
