This year saw EMMA release the glistening and hallucinatory LA Mermaid EP on the Astral Plane as well as the bonkers Mindmaze / Pumpkin Emoji two-tracker, which introduced us to medieval funky and picked up on some of the themes from her 2013 Blue Gardens album. Aside from her own productions, EMMA co-hosts the Angel Food show on NTS and runs the nationwide Producer Girls workshop series which is designed to encourage more young women to take up electronic music production. The OGs amongst you might have caught her at Jam and Bun a while back but we're super excited to welcome her back to Sheffield and see what she's got in store.

Since his crucial Urban Myth EP, the first vinyl release on Mr Mitch's Gobstopper Records, Iglew has continued to showcase his understanding of space, producing his own emotive explorations and reconstructing tracks by EMMA, Capo Lee and more. Lullaby, featuring on 2017's Boxed002, offers a meditative take on grimey synth stabs and a fitting counterbalance to the harsher tracks by Logos and others. Check out his mixes for Truants, Clash or 8MANA, or his NTS show for a taste of what he's been working on recently.

Sea Lion Gang member Jawside is skilled in both the sweeter side of grime - showcased on the sinogrime-tinged Blurred Rain on Boxed002 or In Bloom - and in mechanical club constructions such as Water Spray or In Arms. As well as his own productions, he's responsible for the Mumdance and Logos edit on the Boxed x Local Action comp, and somehow managed to turn up the levels furthr in his take on DJ Oddz's Champion VIP. Check his mixes for Brunswick Sound, Rinse and Radar for an idea of what else he's been playing out.

With an appreciation for the outer reaches of grime and for all things wonky, you might have seen Korra holding it down at some of our nights, at Bluewave or on his genre-spanning UK Mondo show.

We're holding this at Bal Fashions, a great new-ish venue in the Castlegate area, where a lot seems to be going on (and opposite a great Ethiopian restaurant!)

£8 adv / £10 OTD

Be nice to each other and treat the space with respect pls. If you have any issues on the night, or witness anything that is a cause for concern, you can find one of us on the front desk.
