* Where your money goes?*
The event is in aid of the thousands of refugees stuck in Greece. We are supporting One Happy Family. This particular not-for-profit organisation is based around a community centre on Lesvos, that is run WITH the people, not for them. It is a safe space that involves refugees in community building activities according to their skills and talents. The creative activities there help to decompress the horrors of daily life in Camp Moria that people have to face. Lesvos has been become a crossway point for people fleeing war and crises. With the severe human rights situation in Turkey, and the EU hindering refuge into mainland Europe, refugees become stuck in this in-between point with no infrastructure or amenities to call their own.
Team Bananas Supper Club
Team Bananas Supper Club runs charity dinners. Guests get to enjoy delicious food, whilst learning about the refugee crisis and supporting a great cause. Team Bananas Supper Club was formed by a group of friends in 2017. Some of us have spent time over the last 2 years volunteering in Greece with different organisations working with refugees. Primarily, Team Bananas. Team Bananas Supper club is a way of us being able to continue our work from home in London, managing to fundraise and raise awareness for organisations still working on the ground in Greece.
